Rolla Downtown Farmer's Market in downtown Rolla, Missouri will host Kids Cook classes during the month of July. Designed for children ages nine-to-11 and led by Chef Catherine Crump of Food For Your Soul Catering, LLC, the classes will show children how to shop the farmers market vendor offerings and help them prepare a recipe on-site. The Oswego County Health Department's Environmental Division will hold its annual Tap Water Taste Contest Thursday, June 27, 4:15-8pm at the Oswego Farmers' Market in Oswego, New York. Participants vote for their favorite samples of drinking water from municipal systems in Oswego County. The winner of the local competition will advance to a regional competition, and regional winners will compete statewide at New York State Fair in Syracuse. [oswegocountynewsnow]

Birmingham City Council in Alabama has approved funding for Birmingham Central Market, a new farmer’s market attached to the downtown bus station on Morris Avenue. The market will only sell fresh fruits and vegetables and maybe honey and jam, but no meats or processed food. Construction should start in July with an opening in August.
