• Wednesdays, March 14 is the grand opening of the new Encinitas Station Certified Farmer’s Market in California. This weekly farmer’s market focusing on local organic farm fresh  produce will be held every Wednesday 4pm-7pm October through April and 5pm-8pm May through September in Parking lot B on 600 S Vulcan Avenue. Taking a different approach than most in the area, the market will have no prepared foods vendors or arts and crafts vendors; it will focus, instead, on spceailty food items such as cheeses meats, honey breads and local gourmet organic produce. • After months of negotiations, Sonoma County parks officials are turning operation of the Santa Rosa Farmers Market in California over to Redwood Empire Farmers’ Markets.
